What is CD-L?
CD-L is an automated Internet mailing list started in 1996. The CD-L's "Listowner" is Jaye-Allison Winkel. CD-L is an open forum for the discussion of all topics relating to the sport of carriage driving. Our membership is worldwide, and currently has over 1900 members. The nations represented are Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Japan, The Netherlands, New Zealand, South Africa, and the United States of America.
There is absolutely no fee charged for subscribing to CD-L, and all you need to participate is an email account. I liken CD-L to a cross between a daily newspaper and a group of penpals.
How to Subscribe to CD-L
If you would like to join us, send email to:
You must send email in Plain Text format ONLY. Commands sent in Rich Text (HTML formatted) email cannot be read by the listserv computer. If you receive a message back saying that no command was found in your message, the problem is the Rich Text formatting.
Leave your subject line blank and suppress your .sig file, if you use one. (If you don't know what a ".sig file" is, you most likely don't have to worry about it.)
If you are using America Online, you may need to type a period in the subject line.
In the body of the message, type: SUB CD-L followed by your name (your real name, not your email address). Type nothing else in the message; it will only confuse the listserv computer and may disable your subscription.
EXAMPLE: If John Q. Smith were to subscribe to CD-L, the command he would issue would read:
SUB CD-L John Q. Smith
You will receive a confirmation message that you must read and reply to in order to activate your subscription.
Email me if you have any problems! I hope you will enjoy the list!
